Hi! I’m NBinted from the hit website Twitter dot com. I’ve been getting some unexpected traction lately for my interactions and comments about certain characters in the industry. It’s gratifying to raise awareness about issues that I’ve noticed and to make dumb jokes, but I want a space for more serious discussion. For that reason I decided to make this site.
As someone with a media studies background, I've had a lot of thoughts about the VTuber industry and culture over the years that I thought were worth sharing. This will mostly be fun posts, I hope. I won’t shy away from being honest about my own feelings or talking about serious subjects I think are worth talking about though.
Again, these are my posts with my personal opinions and feelings (and research when necessary). I’m not a journalist and this isn’t a source for news or drama. I don’t represent or speak for any company or VTuber or community, either. I just wanna write about VTubers for myself and hopefully get to share it.
I’ll probably talk a bit about Nijisanji’s AR Live sooner than later. Besides that, I hope to cover topics from all sorts of different agencies, indies and hopefully get into some JP industry stuff at some point. Reviews, deep dives and just general thoughts. I hope you’ll take the time to read these.
These will be entirely free. I want this to be a project I’m doing because I want to, and to prove that I actually have something that’s worth reading before I start shilling myself. I’m open to considering options in the future, but primarily I hope to just share stuff I’m interested in talking about for now without trying to make money
So yeah, welcome to my substack. I hope it doesn't suck.
I can't message you on twitter and I don't wanna put my name out there for fear of holofans so this is the best bet I think - In relation to holopro's management people tend to forget about holostars and how badly mismanaged they are, even now. Temma has said that he earned 0 profit from Holostars due to the projects he put on (sound familiar?), Miyabi and all of the gen 1 stars had to endure extreme amounts of harassment that continues to this day with no support from management at all (note: management =/= their managers). They get little if any advertising or direction at all, and are often just left to their own devices meaning that the entire branch is just left to figure out what they should be. Are they gamers? Idols? That's what they're marketed as but they don't do a lot of idol stuff, they don't have that many songs or stage appearances as a group or as individuals - ChroNoiR and ROFMAO have more than them (and are better supported despite Niji not being an idol corp) - and they just don't have that many ways to put their names out there because when they do, gachikoi attack them for interacting with x or y of the hololive girls. On top of that they earn less than even the lowest earning Nijisanji member. There have been, comparitively, more graduations in Holostars than in Nijisanji and Hololive, and 3/5 of those were to go back to a better performing past life. Holoprp's management sucks fucking ass, they just hide it better.
